Child Protection Specialist – Monitoring & Reporting Mechanisms (Temporary, P-3)

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will coordinate and strengthen Haiti’s Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) for grave violations against children. Working under the direct supervision of the Chief, Child Protection Section, the role ensures effective data collection, analysis, and reporting across field and regional offices.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and strengthen the MRM, ensuring sustained monitoring of grave violations against children.
• Manage MRM information flow, including receipt, analysis, compilation, and transmission of data for validation.
• Coordinate with the MRM Technical Working Group, country office, regional and headquarters staff, serving as the focal point for MRM interactions.
• Support child protection actions in emergencies, including programming for children affected by conflict and crises.
• Prepare CTFMR reports, briefings, and advocacy materials on child protection.
• Inform co‑chairs and donors of developments, and support fundraising, fund management, and reporting for MRM activities.
• Mainstream child protection and grave violation concerns across UN operations.
• Strengthen partnerships, national child protection capacity, and support field missions and joint assessments.
