Senior Logistics Officer – UN Support Office, Haiti

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking a Senior Logistics Officer to lead and coordinate logistics services for its mission and partner entities, including the Gang Suppression Force, BINUH, Haitian National Police and Armed Forces. Based in Port‑au‑Prince, the incumbent will operate within the Service Delivery pillar and report to the Chief, Service Delivery (D1).

Key responsibilities

• Exercise managerial and supervisory control over all logistics support for current, future or liquidating field missions.
• Develop, prepare, coordinate and monitor comprehensive logistics support plans, including forecasting, supply schedules and urgent operational needs.
• Monitor and coordinate multifunctional logistics requirements between UN Headquarters and field missions.
• Assist in developing logistics policies and procedures.
• Serve as principal liaison between field missions and Headquarters on logistics matters.
• Ensure logistics preparations for new missions and expanded civilian‑military operations, incorporating gender‑specific needs.
• Advise senior management on logistics structures, staffing and strategy.
• Lead technical survey missions and chair logistics meetings.
• Manage an integrated civilian‑military mission support organization and supervise a multifunctional logistics operation.
• Participate in field mission administrative and financial bodies and act as a certifying officer.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior logistics management within international or humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to supervise large, multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate complex supply chains.
• Strong knowledge of logistics forecasting, supply scheduling, and gender‑responsive logistics planning.
• Experience acting as a liaison between field operations and headquarters.
• Capability to advise senior leadership on logistics strategy and staffing.
