Close Protection Officer (FS5)

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking a Close Protection Officer (FS5) to join its Close Protection Team within the Safety and Security Section. This temporary position is based in Port‑au‑Prince and will support a range of UN and Haitian security entities in a challenging operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide close protection services for United Nations personnel and partners involved in joint operations with the Gang Suppression Force (GSF).
• Coordinate security support for the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Haitian National Police (HNP), and the Haitian Armed Forces.
• Deliver technical assistance to the Organization of American States (OAS) as required.
• Report to the Close Protection FS6 (or equivalent) and act under the authority of the Chief Security Adviser or Chief Security Officer on all close protection matters.

Required profile

• Experience in close protection or security operations, preferably in an international or UN context.
• Ability to work under the direction of senior security officers and adapt to joint operational mandates.
• Willingness to operate in a temporary, on‑site role in Port‑au‑Prince.
