Laundry Attendant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Laundry Attendant to manage the full cycle of laundry services within our camp. The role involves washing, drying, ironing, folding and distributing linen, uniforms and personal clothing while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, iron, fold and stack laundry items according to established procedures.
• Operate laundry machines, dryers, presses and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure proper segregation of different laundry categories (linen, uniforms, personal clothing).
• Use detergents and chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the laundry area and storage rooms.
• Report equipment malfunctions, shortages or damaged items to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Assist with loading, unloading and distribution of clean laundry to designated areas.
• Support increased workloads during peak periods, inspections, mobilization or demobilization activities.
• Report health, safety, environmental and food‑safety hazards and near‑miss incidents.

Required profile

• High School Certificate.
• At least 1 year of relevant laundry experience.
• Basic communication skills in English; fluency in French is required.
• Physically fit and able to work shifts and extended hours.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Required skills

• Operation of basic laundry machines, dryers and presses.
• Safe handling and use of detergents and chemicals.
