Laundry Supervisor

About the role

The Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laundry operations within a camp environment, ensuring that all washing, drying, ironing, folding and distribution activities are performed efficiently, hygienically and on schedule. The role requires close coordination with housekeeping, accommodation and logistics teams while maintaining strict health, safety and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule daily laundry activities, allocating duties to attendants and monitoring attendance.
• Ensure proper segregation, handling and processing of linen, uniforms and personal clothing according to infection‑control standards.
• Monitor the correct use, storage and handling of laundry chemicals and equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of the laundry facility for cleanliness and compliance with health & safety regulations.
• Identify equipment faults, coordinate repairs with maintenance and maintain equipment usage records.
• Maintain daily output logs, chemical consumption records and incident reports.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to staff on techniques, safety procedures and quality standards.
• Coordinate laundry schedules with housekeeping, accommodation and logistics teams.
• Enforce camp rules, company policies and client instructions, and report any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High School Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in laundry operations, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Basic communication skills in English and fluency in French.
• Ability to supervise a multicultural team and work shifts.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of commercial laundry machines, dryers, presses and chemical dosing systems.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office.
• Understanding of laundry processes, fabric care and hygiene standards.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and equipment operation.
• Awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements.
