About the role
The organization seeks a diligent Accountant to provide accurate financial information to management. You will research, analyze accounting data, and prepare timely reports while ensuring confidential handling of company resources.
Key responsibilities
- Lead accounts payable and receivable processes for the project, coordinating with HQ, vendors, and clients.
- Verify invoices, credit/debit notes, and statements of account; resolve disputes and discrepancies.
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports and present financial, operational data to management.
- Maintain cash and bank book transactions, petty cash, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare and authorize cheques, vouchers, and mandatory government fee payments (taxes, NSSF, etc.).
- Coordinate with site accountants on cash and credit transactions and liaise with UN Supply Section for invoice reconciliation.
- Track payments, allocate receipts, and maintain transaction databases.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, health & safety, and environmental policies.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, preferably in wide‑scope projects such as food rations or military support.
- Professional certification such as CIMA, CA, ACCA or equivalent is desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Oracle Financial or similar financial systems.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
