Advocacy and Communications Officer – Fixed Term (Port-au-Prince)

About the role

UNICEF Haiti is seeking a dynamic Advocacy and Communications Officer to lead high‑impact campaigns that amplify children’s rights and influence policy. Reporting to the Chief of Communication, you will work in Port‑au‑Prince to shape strategic messaging, engage media, and build partnerships that drive measurable change for every child.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor integrated advocacy and communication strategies.
• Lead media relations activities, including press releases, interviews and media events.
• Coordinate digital communication initiatives across social platforms and UNICEF’s online channels.
• Forge and manage strategic partnerships with government, NGOs and private sector stakeholders.
• Provide project and budget support for advocacy initiatives.
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of advocacy impact and produce regular reports.
• Deliver capacity‑building workshops for internal teams and partners.

Required profile

• Completed university degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Development or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in advocacy, media relations or strategic communications, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with fluency in English; French is an asset.
