Advocacy and Communications Officer

About the role

UNICEF Haiti is seeking a dynamic Advocacy and Communications Officer to lead high‑impact campaigns that promote children’s rights in Port‑au‑Prince. Reporting to the Chief of Communication, you will shape strategy, engage media, build partnerships and leverage digital platforms to influence policy and mobilise public support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor integrated advocacy and communication strategies aligned with UNICEF’s objectives.
• Lead and support advocacy campaigns, media engagement and strategic partnerships to raise awareness of children’s rights.
• Manage digital communication channels and produce content that amplifies children’s voices.
• Conduct monitoring and evaluation of advocacy and communication activities and report on impact.
• Provide project and budget support for advocacy initiatives.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities for staff and partners on advocacy and communication best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders, including government, donors and civil society, to strengthen political and financial commitments for children.

Required profile

• Completed first‑level university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, International Relations or related fields.
• Proven experience in advocacy, strategic communications or public affairs, preferably in an international development or humanitarian context.
• Strong understanding of media relations, digital communication tools and stakeholder engagement.
