Analyst / Senior Analyst – Acute Needs Analysis (Multiple Locations)

About the role

IMPACT Initiatives is seeking Analyst and Senior Analyst professionals to lead Acute Needs Analysis projects across several country offices in Latin America & the Caribbean, the Middle East & North Africa, and Sub‑Saharan Africa. The role involves synthesising secondary data, applying IMPACT’s analytical guidance, and producing concise, high‑impact briefs that inform humanitarian prioritisation and donor allocations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the country‑level implementation of the Acute Needs Analysis, coordinating with HQ programme teams and adhering to global schedules.
• Collect, review and consolidate secondary data from REACH assessments, UN agencies, INGOs and public datasets, evaluating reliability and identifying gaps.
• Apply IMPACT’s analytical frameworks (e.g., Risk of Excess Mortality) to estimate populations at risk and document assumptions.
• Draft the final brief using standard templates, integrating maps and visual aids with GIS and design colleagues.
• Present findings to clusters, working groups and donors, and support the development of global key messages.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in humanitarian analysis, assessments, M&E or research design, with in‑country exposure.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as international development, data science or political science.
• Strong written communication skills, ability to manage complex workflows and deliver high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with at least one analytical tool (PowerBI, SPSS, R, STATA or Python).
• Basic knowledge of GIS processes and outputs.
• Ability to evaluate qualitative and quantitative data sources.
• Familiarity with humanitarian coordination systems (HPC, inter‑agency needs analysis).
