Chief of Party I – RAPID (Haiti)

About the role

The Chief of Party I will lead the Rapid Assistance for People Impacted by Disasters (RAPID) project in Haiti, ensuring high‑quality programming for the poor and vulnerable. This senior position provides overall strategic direction, operational oversight, and donor liaison for a major emergency‑response initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and consolidation of the RAPID project, aligning it with donor expectations and CRS quality standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for the donor and coordinate with public, private, and non‑government stakeholders.
• Oversee senior programming and operations staff, manage team dynamics, and conduct performance assessments.
• Develop staffing plans, recruit senior staff, and ensure staff safety and security compliance.
• Monitor and mitigate risks, including national and regional issues that could affect staff or programming.
• Ensure compliance with United States Government grant requirements, financial tracking, and reporting.
• Approve program expenditures, budget adjustments, and cost modification requests.
• Develop communication strategies and materials in line with donor and CRS branding.
• Coordinate with consortium partners, organize workshops, and facilitate collaboration among partner staff.
• Create a learning environment, identify performance gaps, and deliver high‑quality training and technical assistance.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in humanitarian or emergency‑response programs.
• Strong ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and multi‑stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and staff‑well‑being skills.
• Demonstrated capacity to assess and mitigate security risks.
• Commitment to CRS values and efficient use of resources.
