Clinic Nurse‑Midwife (Full‑time & Part‑time)

About the role

The Grand Boulage Community Clinic & Maternity, run by Medicines for Humanity, seeks a Nurse‑Midwife to join its multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on providing comprehensive maternal and child health services to a rural population of about 15,000 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver antenatal and postnatal care, including consultations for infants.
• Attend uncomplicated deliveries, monitor labor, manage pain relief, and perform emergency resuscitation for mother or newborn when needed.
• Conduct initial newborn care, follow‑up visits, and provide health education on nutrition, breastfeeding, and disease prevention.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and symptoms; diagnose basic conditions and refer to the clinic doctor for advanced care.
• Administer immunizations, order laboratory and diagnostic tests, and provide first aid in emergencies.
• Support clinic administration, inventory management, and training of Community Health Workers and Traditional Birth Attendants.
• Perform occasional home‑visit consultations and collaborate with other staff on patient management.

Required profile

• Qualified Nurse‑Midwife able to provide primary and preventative care for patients of all ages.
• Willingness to work closely with doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians, and community partners.
• Commitment to the clinic’s mission of improving maternal, child, and community health.

Required skills
