CLTS WASH Specialist

About the role

The CLTS WASH Specialist will lead community‑led total sanitation (CLTS) activities in Haiti, integrating biblical stewardship principles with practical hygiene promotion. This role works closely with churches, local volunteers and community members to achieve open‑defecation‑free (ODF) status and sustain safe sanitation practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training workshops for families, youth, church leaders and community volunteers.
• Lead participatory CLTS triggering sessions and guide communities in analysing sanitation practices.
• Promote affordable, locally appropriate latrine options and support churches in attaining ODF status.
• Mobilise pastors, youth groups and church volunteers for sanitation advocacy.
• Mentor local facilitators and supervise fieldwork to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Prepare regular progress reports, document impact stories and ensure alignment with health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a Christ‑like attitude in all interactions.
• Strong commitment to child protection and advocacy.
• Mature Christian values, integrity and honesty.
• Ability to integrate biblical principles of stewardship, cleanliness and care for creation into WASH messaging.
