Deputy Country Director

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Deputy Country Director to support its humanitarian mission in Haiti. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on program oversight, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization’s faith‑based values and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management, and strategic insight for all programmatic aspects of the country office.
• Collaborate with the Program Development Officer, Finance Manager, and Program Managers to implement grants, awards, and internally funded programs according to established guidelines.
• Supervise partner‑operated programs, ensuring accountability and alignment with country‑level strategy.
• Improve systematization and standardization of grants management and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) systems.
• Monitor humanitarian issues, conduct field assessments, and advise the Country Director on response options.
• Maintain strong relationships with clusters and coordination bodies.
• Serve as a spiritual leader for staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Active, multiple‑entry U.S. visa.
• Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Development, Politics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• At least four years of relevant experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with WFP, IOM, or USAID‑funded programming preferred.
• Extensive field humanitarian experience in a management role.
• 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete after hire).
