Deputy Project Manager – FM, Minor Construction & HVAC

About the role

The Deputy Project Manager supports the Project Manager in overseeing facilities management (FM), minor engineering, and HVAC works contracts. This role ensures continuity of operations, steps in as project lead when the PM is absent, and acts as a backup for QHSE and location responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with daily project decisions and coordination across all teams.
• Take full project leadership during the PM’s absence, maintaining schedule and quality.
• Monitor project KPIs, prepare performance reports and communicate with client representatives.
• Support procurement and logistics activities, working closely with the Logistics Officer.
• Oversee documentation management, record keeping and correspondence.
• Provide QHSE backup, report health, safety, environmental and food‑safety hazards, and ensure ISO compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors to meet service delivery standards.
• Implement performance management for direct reports, set KPIs, conduct reviews and identify training needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in FM, minor construction or HVAC works.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Valid driver’s licence; PMP certification is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using Project Management software.
• Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Ability to generate reports with reporting tools.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, FM operations and quality management.
• Health & safety competence.
