Facilities Management Officer – UN Support Office, Haiti

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking a temporary Facilities Management Officer (P‑3) to join its Engineering and Facilities Management Section in Port‑au‑Prince. The role supports the Gang Suppression Force, the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti, the Haitian National Police and Armed Forces, providing engineering and facilities expertise for rapidly deployable and security‑driven infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project proposals, ensuring technical feasibility, soundness and operational continuity.
• Collaborate with Planning and Design Officers and Engineers on drawings, plans and calculations for design, construction, renovation or maintenance of major systems.
• Provide technical inputs for physical security solutions, including blast and ballistic protection, perimeter works and access control.
• Develop and implement guidance materials and instructions to achieve unit objectives.
• Monitor ongoing projects, minor works and maintenance schedules, minimising disruption to occupied facilities.
• Conduct technical studies, prepare guidelines for system planning and maintenance, and advise the Section Chief on urgent or recurrent issues.
• Coordinate material procurement, logistic support and supervise technical staff, in‑house teams and outsourced contractors.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge of engineering management and facilities management within UN field deployments.
• Experience with security‑driven infrastructure and physical protection measures.
• Ability to work under tight timelines and in a multi‑agency environment.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
