International Consultant – Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (Port-au-Prince)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a qualified consultant to lead Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities within its emergency programme in Haiti. Reporting to the Senior Emergency Coordinator and the Protection Coordinator, the consultant will strengthen existing interventions and develop new strategies to address the growing mental health needs of displaced persons, migrants and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of current MHPSS interventions and expand them with a strategic vision.
• Provide operational and programmatic oversight for all MHPSS projects.
• Guide the MHPSS field team and ensure technical quality in collaboration with the Protection Unit.
• Develop recommendations for new MHPSS strategies, projects and activities.
• Integrate MHPSS approaches across all IOM programmes and ensure mainstreaming.
• Offer technical guidance and financial oversight to implementing partners.
• Design and deliver capacity‑building initiatives for the Ministry of Health and Health Cluster partners, focusing on suicide prevention and community resilience.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating MHPSS interventions in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior protection and emergency coordination staff.
• Strong understanding of displacement‑related mental health challenges.
