Local Travel Officer (Port-au-Prince, Haiti)

About the role

The Local Travel Officer supports ARKARK’s programme delivery in Haiti by managing all travel arrangements for staff, consultants and project stakeholders. Working closely with logistics, finance, HR and external travel providers, the officer ensures that travel is booked efficiently, complies with internal policies and donor requirements, and that accurate records are maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Book approved flights, accommodation, airport transfers and in‑country transport for authorised travellers.
• Prepare and distribute confirmed itineraries to travellers, project managers, finance and HR.
• Handle changes, cancellations, re‑bookings and short‑notice travel requests while keeping all parties informed.
• Support mobilisation and demobilisation of staff and consultants, confirming dates, routing, accommodation and transport.
• Receive, review and track travel requests, verifying traveller details, passport information, budget codes and visa requirements before booking.
• Prioritise urgent travel requests in consultation with the Project Manager.
• Maintain accurate travel records and resolve any travel‑related issues.

Required profile

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external providers.
• Familiarity with travel policies, donor compliance and budgeting processes.
