Logistics Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) seeks a Logistics Assistant for a three‑month temporary assignment. The role supports UN staff in the field, reporting to the Workshop Supervisor under the Chief Transport Officer, and contributes to transport and workshop operations within the Mission Support Division.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare material request orders, Service Entry Sheets and requisitions, and enter data into the UMOJA system.
• Liaise with procurement, accounting and other divisions to verify and process invoices and funding certifications.
• Maintain contact with mission staff regarding transport service provision, monitor contract activity and insurance coverage of the UN fleet.
• Assist with vehicle inspections, workshop work order creation, spare‑parts coordination and asset verification exercises.
• Generate status reports, update logistics databases (stock levels, transport asset movements) and support vehicle recovery plans.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent); a diploma/certificate in Administration or Logistics is desirable.
• Valid Category B driver’s licence.
• Minimum three years of progressively responsible logistics experience, preferably with air, sea or road freight operations.
• Fluency in English and French at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

Required skills

• Proficiency with the UMOJA logistics system.
• Experience in contract management and asset tracking databases.
• Knowledge of transport asset verification and workshop procedures.
