Programme Manager - Nutrition

About the role

Concern Worldwide is looking for a Programme Manager - Nutrition to oversee the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of nutrition activities in Haiti, ensuring expected outcomes and quality standards are met. The post reports to the Programme Director, is a 12-month fixed-term full-time position based at the coordination office in Port-au-Prince, and involves frequent travel to project areas in the West and Centre Departments.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the design, planning and implementation of nutrition programmes aligned with national strategies, donor priorities and humanitarian standards, and contribute to new project proposals and funding opportunities.
• Take part in multi-sectoral needs assessments and nutrition surveys, and oversee project implementation against action plans, budgets and indicators.
• Lead the MAMI approach, including adapting the protocol locally, monitoring and analysing data, and coordinating with local stakeholders.
• Manage severe and moderate acute malnutrition, including community mobilisation, screening, health system strengthening, supply chain and data monitoring, and lead the behaviour change strategy (IYCF activities, WASH and food security synergies, distribution of MNPs and AK1000 flour).
• Facilitate the roll-out of improved flour production, including operational protocols and knowledge sharing.
• Work with the MEAL Manager on project databases, indicator monitoring and data collection, and produce narrative and technical reports and donor contracts.
• Supervise a team of Nutrition Programme Officers, Assistant Nutrition Programme Officers and Nutrition Field Officers, set objectives, run performance appraisals and organise training.
• Monitor monthly budgets, forecast expenditures and ensure data quality.
• Represent Concern with authorities, partners and clusters, and build partnerships with state bodies such as the regional health directorates and the National Nutrition Directorate.
• Report weekly to the Programme Director, draft meeting minutes, and submit monthly project progress reports.

Required profile

• Master's degree in public health or nutrition, or a degree in medicine or a relevant field.
• 3 years' experience in programme management, with proven experience working with international NGOs, community-based approaches, and CMAM and/or IYCF approaches.
• Experience drafting programme proposals and managing relations with government partners.
• Desirable: knowledge of MAMI approaches and fortified flour production, and experience in Haiti or a similar context.
• Excellent spoken and written French (essential); English and Haitian Creole are an advantage.
