Programme Officer

About the role

The Programme Officer will support FAO’s mission to achieve food security in Haiti by leading the design, implementation and monitoring of programmes that address agrifood system transformation and emergency resilience. Reporting to the FAO Representative, the officer will work closely with regional and headquarters units to ensure alignment with FAO strategic frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate programmes and projects, ensuring they meet FAO objectives and donor requirements.
• Coordinate resource mobilisation, budget preparation, financial reporting and results‑based management across programme cycles.
• Lead field missions, provide guidance to consultants and partners, and prepare mission summaries and policy briefs.
• Represent FAO in meetings, negotiate funding agreements and maintain relationships with donors, government agencies and civil society.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, social science, political science or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in project or programme management, preferably in field or emergency contexts.
• Proficiency in English (level C) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language (e.g., French).
• Demonstrated competencies in results focus, teamwork, communication and knowledge sharing.
