Programme Officer (Shelter Engineer) – P Level

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Officer (Shelter Engineer) on an expedited internal recruitment basis. Reporting to the Chief of Mission, the Senior Emergency Coordinator and directly supervised by the Shelter Programme Officer, the incumbent will provide technical guidance and oversee cash‑based shelter interventions within the Haiti Country Office.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement and monitor administrative and operational activities of approved shelter programmes.
• Supervise support staff and monitor implementing partners to ensure compliance with IOM standards and regulations.
• Maintain close collaboration with the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Unit for site improvement works.
• Monitor the rental assistance project in coordination with CCCM, Protection, Cash‑Based Interventions and Operations units.
• Provide technical inputs for shelter workplans and support cash‑based intervention activities.

Required profile

• Professional experience in humanitarian shelter programmes or construction management.
• Ability to work under the supervision of senior mission staff and coordinate with multiple UN and government partners.
• Strong analytical and monitoring skills.
