UNFPA Representative – Haiti

About the role

The Representative leads UNFPA’s country team in Haiti, overseeing the design and implementation of population, development and sexual and reproductive health programmes within humanitarian‑development‑peace and security contexts. Reporting to the Regional Director, the role ensures integration of SRHR into the national development agenda and drives advocacy, partnership building and resource mobilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the Country Programme of Cooperation on population and development, SRHR and maternal health.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high‑quality programme delivery, especially in emergency settings.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government, UN agencies, donors, civil society and the private sector.
• Advocate for UNFPA’s mandate and promote integration of SRHR into national policies.
• Oversee resource mobilisation, budgeting and financial management in line with UN standards.
• Represent UNFPA in national and regional fora, providing technical guidance and reporting to the Regional Director.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in leading large‑scale development or humanitarian programmes, preferably in SRHR or population sectors.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑partner collaborations and securing funding.
• Strong understanding of the 2030 Agenda, ICPD Programme of Action and related UN frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work in complex, volatile environments and make evidence‑based decisions.
