Air Operations Assistant

About the role

The United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) is seeking an Air Operations Assistant to support the Mission Air Operations Center. This temporary, full‑time role will be based in Port‑au‑Prince and may involve occasional assignments to other airports in Haiti. The assistant will work under the Chief of the Mission Air Operations Center and the Chief Aviation Officer, contributing to the planning, monitoring and coordination of UN and partner air missions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and coordinating routine passenger, cargo, logistics, casualty evacuation, VIP and military operational flights.
• Compile daily projected Air Tasking Orders (ATOs) and disseminate them to relevant stakeholders.
• Support integrated search and rescue operations for UN air assets and other aircraft upon request.
• Monitor flight departures and arrivals, updating tracking systems in real time.
• Maintain accurate records of aircraft movements and operational statistics.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Chief MAOC or Chief Aviation Officer.

Required profile

• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, as operational needs dictate.
• Ability to collaborate with multinational teams and UN partners.
