Artisan Electrician – Low/Medium Voltage Systems

About the role

The Artisan Electrician will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance and repair of low and medium‑voltage electrical systems. The role involves working on circuits, cabling, conduits, fixtures, switchgear, panel and distribution boards, as well as grounding, lighting and emergency power equipment, ensuring compliance with IEC and NEC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical systems and components.
• Lay and connect electrical circuits, cabling, conduits and wiring.
• Fit and service fixtures, switchgear, panel boards, distribution boards and transformers.
• Test, commission and periodically inspect installations, including grounding and lightning‑protection systems.
• Install and maintain lighting, emergency lighting, control systems, signal and data lines.
• Service emergency power systems, UPS units and battery banks.
• Troubleshoot faults and rectify issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate labeling, documentation and as‑built drawings.
• Report health, safety, environmental and food‑safety hazards and near‑misses.
• Follow all applicable ISO standards and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Trade certification in electrical work.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in English; French or Creole is advantageous.
• Valid electrical licence preferred.
• Commitment to wearing required PPE and attending daily safety briefings.

Required skills

• Use of multimeters, power tools and testing equipment.
• Electrical design, installation and maintenance of low/medium‑voltage systems.
• Knowledge of IEC and NEC standards.
• Experience with grounding, lighting and emergency power systems.
