Auto Body Technician – Collision Repair

About the role
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for delivering a top‑tier customer experience by meticulously assessing and repairing vehicles to their pre‑accident condition. Working in a collaborative shop environment, you will play a key part in meeting speed, quality and customer‑service targets.
Key responsibilities
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates and execute repairs using cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, pliers and other tools.
- Remove dents, dimples and minor body damage; apply filler resins when needed.
- Realign chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
- Replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts, including glass, windshields and interior components.
- Weld, attach and fit parts, then prepare and repaint surfaces with factory‑specified paint.
- Complete work orders within labor‑time guidelines and inspect finished repairs for quality.
- Support team KPIs and act as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
Required skills
- Proficiency with cutting guns, plasma cutters and hydraulic jacks.
- Welding and metal‑working expertise.
- Experience applying filler resins and automotive paint.
- Ability to read and interpret job orders with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of chassis realignment and glass replacement techniques.
