Chief of Section, Centralised Warehousing

About the role

The Chief of Section, Centralised Warehousing is a senior P‑5 position within the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Based in Port‑au‑Prince, the incumbent leads the planning, administration and performance management of the mission’s centralised warehousing function, providing critical logistics support to the Gang Suppression Force, BINUH, Haitian National Police and Armed Forces.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations including delivery monitoring, receiving, batch management, transfer orders and put‑away.
• Manage inventory and storage, conduct inventory analysis, coordinate with technical units and ensure visibility of inventory ownership.
• Direct outbound operations such as order fulfilment, picking, packing, task monitoring, consolidation and loading.
• Lead property disposal by developing TOR/SOW, planning disposal activities and monitoring contractor performance.
• Develop and implement stock control and audit systems, providing data on stock levels, usage rates, economic order quantity and reorder points.
• Utilise business intelligence tools to analyse demand and supply data, driving improvements in the overall supply chain.
• Incorporate the Green SCOR model to minimise environmental impact across all warehousing activities.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience (P‑5 level) in large‑scale warehousing or supply chain management.
• Proven track record in inventory management, stock control and property disposal within a humanitarian or UN context.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple UN agencies and Haitian security forces.
• Strong analytical mindset and experience translating policies into actionable operational plans.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Green SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model.
• Proficiency with business intelligence tools for demand‑supply analysis.
• Expertise in inventory analysis and stock control methodologies.
