Chief of Section, Supply

About the role

The Chief of Section, Supply leads the supply function of the United Nations Support Office in Haiti, ensuring that all mission components receive timely and efficient logistical support. Based in Port‑au‑Prince, the role oversees the planning, coordination and delivery of supply services, managing staff, budgets and relationships with key partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the General Supply, Rations and Fuel units and oversee warehouse operations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive supply support plans in coordination with senior mission management, UNHQ and other UN agencies.
• Lead budget formulation, acquisition planning, scope of work development, requisition processing and participation in technical evaluations.
• Monitor high‑value expenditures, approve requisitions and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Conduct periodic reviews of supply policies, practices and directives to promote best practices.
• Liaise with the Mission Contract Compliance Management Section to resolve contractual disputes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in supply chain, logistics or procurement within an international or humanitarian context.
• Proven ability to manage large budgets and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of UN procurement rules, contract management and results‑based budgeting.
• Excellent coordination skills with senior officials, UN agencies and local partners.
