Chief of Service, Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Chief of Service, Supply Chain Management leads all supply‑chain functions for the United Nations Support Office in Haiti. Reporting to the Director of Mission Support, the incumbent ensures integrated planning, procurement, warehousing, transportation and inventory management for mission‑critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the supply‑chain work plan, forecasts, priorities and resource allocation.
• Coordinate acquisition, procurement, warehousing, asset and inventory management across the mission.
• Oversee transportation and freight planning (air, land, sea) and ensure timely expediting and distribution.
• Monitor and optimise supply‑chain performance, establishing strategic indicators and continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Adapt the work plan rapidly to support major operational changes and joint operations with partner forces.
• Consolidate human and financial resources required for service delivery and ensure compliance with UN policies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in managing complex supply‑chain operations, preferably in humanitarian or UN contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with multiple UN agencies and national authorities.
• Strong understanding of procurement, logistics, inventory control and transport management.
• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
