Child Protection Officer – Les Cayes, Haiti

About the role

UNICEF Haiti is looking for a dedicated Child Protection Officer to join its Field Office in Les Cayes. The officer will support the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes, ensuring vulnerable children and families receive quality protection services in a challenging humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and updating child protection strategies and action plans.
• Coordinate and monitor project activities, ensuring compliance with UNICEF standards and donor requirements.
• Collect, analyse and report data on protection indicators and programme outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance to partners, government agencies and community stakeholders.
• Support capacity‑building workshops and training sessions for field staff and partners.
• Contribute to advocacy efforts and prepare briefing materials for senior management.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in social sciences, law, international development or a related field.
• Experience working in child protection, humanitarian or development programmes, preferably in a field setting.
• Strong understanding of child rights frameworks, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
• Ability to produce clear written reports and presentations.
