Civil Engineer – Earthquake/Seismic Engineering & Infrastructure

About the role

The Engineering and Facilities Management Section (EFMS) in Haiti seeks a qualified Civil Engineer to lead structural assessments, seismic risk analysis, and infrastructure resilience projects. The role focuses on ensuring life‑safety, structural integrity, and operational continuity of mission facilities across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Assess buildings, facilities and infrastructure for structural condition, operational suitability and earthquake vulnerability.
• Support design, review, rehabilitation and retrofitting of civil and structural assets.
• Supervise construction, repair, retrofit and infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Review contractor submissions and provide technical recommendations.
• Assist project planning, budgeting, procurement and contract administration.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for mission infrastructure projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and reporting related to assessments and resilience measures.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in structural assessment and seismic engineering.
• Experience with infrastructure resilience and construction supervision.
• Ability to produce technical specifications, cost estimates and schedules.
