Civil Engineering Technician (Talent Pooling)

About the role

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Technician to join our talent pool. The role involves conducting comprehensive inspections of masonry, structural, safety, and roof systems to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect exterior and interior masonry surfaces (ceramic, clay, cement, block, stone, tile) and plaster finishes.
• Perform safety inspections covering fire suppression systems, sensors, alarms, exhaust fans, signage, and emergency lighting.
• Conduct roof inspections and identify corrective actions for leakages.
• Assess structural integrity of prefabricated, hard‑wall, and soft‑wall buildings, including foundations, walkways, drainage, and horizontal infrastructure.
• Quantify material requirements for civil and masonry repair works and prepare itemised task order proposals.
• Maintain implementation schedules, inspection reports, and submit findings to the Team Coordinator.
• Report health, safety, environmental, and food‑safety hazards and near‑miss incidents, adhering to ISO standards.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years experience in civil/construction inspection.
• Fluent in English; French or Creole advantageous.
• Ability to wear required PPE and attend daily safety briefings.

Required skills

• Masonry inspection (ceramic, clay, cement, block, stone, tile, plaster).
• Structural integrity assessment.
• Safety system inspection (fire suppression, sensors, alarms, emergency lighting).
• Roof leakage assessment.
• Use of inspection tools and testing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
