Communications Manager – Haiti Programs

About the role

Heifer International is seeking a dynamic Communications Manager to lead the strategic communications for its Haiti program. Reporting to the Senior Country Director, the role will shape the visibility of projects, manage media relations and support internal and external messaging across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the country program.
• Design and execute communication plans for specific projects and initiatives.
• Produce high‑quality communication materials (press releases, stories, newsletters, digital content) for diverse audiences.
• Manage and update communication platforms, including website and social media channels.
• Lead media relations, represent Heifer at public events and coordinate with partners, donors and stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of technical and institutional reports.
• Supervise communications staff, build team capacity and ensure consistent messaging.
• Identify and mitigate organizational reputation risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in communications management, preferably in international development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Fluency in French and Haitian Creole; Spanish is an asset.
• Experience with donor‑funded projects (e.g., USAID) and knowledge of agriculture, rural development or climate‑change topics is preferred.
