Convoy Leader

About the role

The Convoy Leader will head a fleet of heavy trucks transporting food and non‑food items across Haiti. Reporting to the Fleet and Garage Manager, you will plan, organise and supervise convoys, ensuring safe and timely delivery in line with client procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and guide truck drivers throughout each convoy, maintaining strict safety standards.
• Provide hourly updates on convoy progress using HF, VHF and Thuraya radio communications.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, report defects, and ensure mechanical soundness.
• Manage fuel consumption, refuelling schedules and logbook completion.
• Oversee cargo loading, verify payload limits, and ensure cargo integrity until delivery.
• Handle breakdowns, decide on troubleshooting actions, and coordinate repairs when trucks are in the garage.
• Maintain accurate records of tools, equipment and funds allocated for unloading.
• Report any accidents or safety incidents immediately to supervisors.

Required profile

• Proven leadership ability with experience supervising truck drivers.
• Strong decision‑making skills, especially under safety‑critical situations.
• Good physical stamina for on‑site inspections and cargo handling.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations across Haiti.
