Deputy Manager Nursing Home

About the role

This full‑time position supports the Clinical Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of a residential nursing home. It is suitable for a registered nurse or a candidate with a strong healthcare background who wishes to move into management, offering flexible hours that include at least one weekend day.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily running of the care home, coordinating care, housekeeping, catering, maintenance and administration.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels, manage rotas, and align resources with budgets and occupancy.
• Lead, support and develop non‑clinical and care teams through supervision, appraisals and performance management.
• Maintain compliance with state standards, support audits, inspections and quality‑improvement plans.
• Act as primary contact for residents and families, handling complaints, concerns and feedback.
• Assist with budget management, cost control, resource allocation and monitor occupancy levels.
• Collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead to ensure safe, high‑quality care delivery and to address operational issues affecting care quality.

Required profile

• Experience in care home management or deputy management role.
• Background in health and social care (non‑clinical leadership acceptable).
• Knowledge of elderly care services and residential/nursing home operations.
• NVQ Level 4/5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (preferred).
• Leadership or management qualification desirable.
