Finance Manager – Port-au-Prince, Haiti

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of its Haiti country office in Port‑au‑Prince. The role ensures that all financial set‑up, reporting and controls meet NRC standards, donor requirements and local regulations, supporting programme implementation across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the country’s financial set‑up complies with the NRC Financial Handbook, policies, donor and auditor requirements.
• Implement and monitor financial control mechanisms to minimise corruption and financial risk.
• Maintain overall budget control, monitor cash flows, expenditures and analyse the financial situation of the office.
• Manage NRC’s bank accounts in Haiti and oversee monthly allocations for support and staff costs.
• Work with programme managers to develop and consolidate project budgets and support cost allocations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum three years of experience as a senior financial manager in a humanitarian or recovery context.
• Proven ability to work in complex, volatile environments and to establish new financial systems.
• Fluency in French and English; knowledge of Haitian Creole and the local context is an asset.
• Valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of modern accounting software and computer applications.
