General Foreman – Civil Works

About the role

The General Foreman – Civil Works will lead field supervision of civil construction, maintenance and repair activities across multiple mission sites. Reporting to the Engineering and Facilities Management Section, the role ensures that all works are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction, maintenance, repair and infrastructure tasks on site.
• Coordinate work crews, tradespersons, equipment operators and subcontractors.
• Ensure execution follows approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Monitor site productivity, resource utilization and work sequencing.
• Verify measurements, quantities and completed works for reporting.
• Maintain accurate field records, construction documentation and progress photographs.
• Support safe working practices, environmental protection measures and emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor in civil works projects.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete, masonry, steel and prefabricated structures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail for record‑keeping and reporting.
• Commitment to safety standards and environmental compliance.
