Interpreter (English‑French/Creole) for Training Sessions

About the role

We are seeking experienced interpreters to support ARKARK’s training programmes in Port‑au‑Prince, Haiti. The role involves providing high‑quality English‑French and French‑Creole interpretation and translation for workshops, meetings and training materials.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver simultaneous and consecutive interpretation during training sessions, workshops and meetings.
• Translate training manuals, presentations, handouts and official project documents between English, French and French‑Creole.
• Assist trainers in preparing bilingual session materials and clarify terminology in real time.
• Maintain and update a glossary of technical terms to ensure consistency across all translations.
• Proofread and review final documents with the project team to meet style and terminology standards.
• Participate in coordination meetings, after‑action reviews and provide feedback on translation challenges.
• Adhere to ARKARK’s safety, security and safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Fluent in English, French and French‑Creole with proven interpretation experience.
• Experience in both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation, preferably in training or capacity‑building contexts.
• Strong attention to linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with trainers and project staff.
