Logistics Officer (Port Operations)

About the role

The Logistics Officer (Port Operations) will support WFP Haiti in managing the complex flow of humanitarian assistance through the main entry points of Port‑au‑Prince and Cap‑Haitien. The role ensures that cargo is received, stored, and dispatched efficiently to reach vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound cargo movements at the ports of entry.
• Liaise with port authorities, customs, and transport providers to secure timely clearance.
• Monitor cargo handling procedures to ensure compliance with WFP standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventories, and documentation.
• Support contingency planning for overland transport routes from the Dominican Republic.

Required profile

• Haitian national with a strong commitment to humanitarian principles.
• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or port operations.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving emergency environment.
