Master Construction Electrician

About the role

The Master Construction Electrician will lead the electrical component of refurbishment and reconstruction projects supporting the Haitian National Police under the INL Multinational Security Support mission. This position requires frequent travel across Haiti and close coordination with INL, the U.S. Embassy in Port‑au‑Prince, and local stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical systems on reconstruction sites.
• Develop and implement electrical plans and specifications that meet local and international codes.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to integrate electrical work with overall project schedules.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise on the feasibility of electrical designs in the Haitian context.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience as a Master Electrician, preferably in an international or post‑conflict environment.
• U.S. citizenship with no adverse prior experience with INL and no removal from any USG mission.
• Active MPRT, Secret, or Top‑Secret security clearance.
• Fluent English; French and/or Creole preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Haiti.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Ability to design and implement complex electrical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
