About the role

The Organization of Dedicated Visionaries for High‑Modern Development (OVDDHMO) is seeking a Communication Officer to lead the visibility and outreach strategy for the KENBE NÒ project, which supports cyclone resilience in Haiti’s North‑West region. Working under the Project Manager, the officer will create bilingual (French and Creole) communication materials and manage media relations for a 12‑month, part‑time assignment based in Port‑au‑Prince.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a visibility strategy that meets donor (OCHA/CBPF) requirements.
• Produce communication assets such as banners, posters, flyers, and radio spots in French and Creole.
• Manage the project’s media coverage and social‑media channels.
• Design and deliver awareness campaign materials on cyclone preparedness, gender‑based violence prevention, and PEAS.
• Collect images and testimonies for reporting and knowledge‑sharing purposes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum Bac+3) in Communication, Marketing, Journalism or a related field.
• At least two years of communication experience within an NGO or similar institution.
• Strong writing skills in both French and Haitian Creole.
• Proven ability to manage social‑media platforms.

Required skills

• Proficiency with graphic‑design tools such as Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience in audiovisual production for radio or video spots.
