WATSAN QA/QC Engineer

About the role

The WATSAN QA/QC Engineer will provide technical oversight for water supply, treatment, wastewater and sanitation systems across mission locations in Haiti. Working within the Engineering and Facilities Management Section, the role ensures that all installations, repairs and maintenance activities meet approved specifications, WHO drinking‑water guidance and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, inspection checklists and test plans for WATSAN projects.
• Conduct systematic inspections, pressure, leak and pump tests, disinfection and flow‑measurement activities during installation, commissioning and operation.
• Verify contractor compliance with drawings, bills of quantities, statements of work, technical, environmental and safety requirements.
• Document test results, maintain defect and non‑conformance registers, and follow corrective‑action processes to closure.
• Coordinate quality monitoring with laboratory and operational teams and support the preparation of technical records and reports.
• Provide quality‑related input during design, procurement and implementation phases.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering background (civil, environmental or water resources) with experience in water, wastewater or sanitation projects.
• Demonstrated ability to apply QA/QC standards and conduct field testing.
• Familiarity with WHO drinking‑water guidelines and local environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
