Associate Fuel Officer – UN Support Office Haiti

About the role

The Associate Fuel Officer will support the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) by managing fuel assets, overseeing storage facilities, and ensuring the integrity of fuel operations. Based in Port‑au‑Prince, the role reports to the Fuel Officer, Life Support Section and contributes to the mission’s logistical and security objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor projects to improve fuel asset management, storage, and equipment upkeep.
• Maintain a central record of fuel inventories, task orders, and deliveries, coordinating with regional fuel staff and the Mission Fuel Unit.
• Assist in developing outsourced contracts, preparing Statements of Work, conducting technical evaluations, and verifying invoices.
• Communicate with regional fuel supervisors to resolve supply‑chain issues and manage fuel write‑offs.
• Track fuel usage through the Mission Electronic Fuel Management System (eFMS) and ensure accurate accounting.
• Manage regional Quality Assurance plans and act as a Quality Assurance Surveillance Evaluator, scheduling inspections and reviewing contractor facilities.
• Investigate discrepancies in fuel accounting and conduct periodic physical verifications.

Required profile

• Professional knowledge of fuel or consumable goods supply chains, operations, and contract management.
• Ability to specify business rules for fuel logistics and demonstrate pride in work quality.
• Experience working in a multinational or UN environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Mission Electronic Fuel Management System (eFMS).
