Child Protection Specialist – Monitoring & Reporting Mechanisms (MRM)

About the role

The Child Protection Specialist will lead the implementation and strengthening of Haiti’s Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) for grave violations against children. Working under the Chief of Child Protection, the role ensures accurate data collection, analysis and reporting to inform strategic actions and advocacy.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CTFMR Secretariat and MRM Technical Working Group.
• Implement and enhance the MRM to monitor grave violations against children.
• Coordinate with other monitoring mechanisms, partners, and UN entities.
• Prepare CTFMR reports, briefings and support advocacy on child protection.
• Inform co‑chairs and donors about developments and outcomes.
• Assist fundraising, fund management and reporting for MRM activities.
• Integrate child protection and CAAC concerns across UN operations.
• Strengthen partnerships and coordination with relevant actors, including the Haitian National Police.
• Support field missions and joint assessments on child protection.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Chief, Child Protection.

Required profile

• Professional experience in child protection and monitoring of grave violations.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder mechanisms and produce high‑level reports.
• Familiarity with humanitarian contexts and UN reporting procedures.
