Humanitarian Access Safety & Security Advisor

About the role

The Humanitarian Access Safety & Security (HASS) Advisor provides strategic guidance to the Country Director, Senior Management Team and HASS Manager on humanitarian access, safety and security matters in Haiti. The role strengthens organizational capacity, systems and decision‑making to ensure principled humanitarian operations in a high‑risk environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on access, safety and security risks using evidence‑based analysis.
• Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of HASS policies and procedures.
• Mentor and coach the HASS Manager and program teams to build sustainable national capability.
• Provide technical quality assurance for all humanitarian access and security risk‑management activities.
• Collaborate with partners and operational departments to align practices with IRC global standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian access, safety and security within complex, high‑risk contexts.
• Proven ability to advise senior management and influence strategic decisions.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record of producing risk‑informed recommendations.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.
