Business Development Manager – Various locations

About the role

Acted is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead positioning, fundraising and partnership development across its humanitarian, development, climate and environmental programmes. The role works closely with the Country Director and HQ teams to translate programme strengths into compelling value propositions for donors and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse socio‑economic, humanitarian, climate and political contexts to identify funding trends and emerging financing mechanisms.
• Monitor developments in humanitarian aid, climate finance and private‑sector engagement, mapping risks and opportunities.
• Maintain and update stakeholder, donor and partner maps covering traditional donors, climate finance actors and private‑sector stakeholders.
• Contribute to the country programme and business development strategy, aligning with Acted’s global priorities.
• Lead the drafting and coordination of fundraising documents (EOIs, concept notes, full proposals) ensuring technical soundness, financial realism and donor compliance.
• Collaborate with programme, MEAL, FLATS and HQ teams to guarantee proposal quality and risk awareness.
• Support negotiations with donors and partners, reviewing contracts and liaising with HQ as needed.
