Cleaner – Camp Facilities

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation of our camp facilities. The role involves following approved cleaning schedules, adhering to safety standards and supporting the housekeeping team in a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning of assigned areas including offices, accommodation units, corridors, washrooms, common areas and other facilities.
• Sweep, mop, dust, wash and sanitize floors, walls, surfaces, furniture and sanitary facilities according to the cleaning schedule.
• Collect, segregate and dispose of waste in line with camp waste management and environmental procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment safely and correctly following instructions and safety guidelines.
• Report any damages, maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning activities to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Replenish cleaning materials and consumables as required in assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of cleaning equipment, storage areas and janitorial rooms.
• Support additional cleaning tasks during inspections, special events, mobilization or demobilization as directed.
• Report health & safety, environmental and food safety hazards and near‑miss incidents to ensure a safe working environment.
• Follow and maintain all applicable ISO standards and requirements.

Required profile

• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant cleaning experience.
• Basic communication skills in English and fluency in French.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
• Physically fit to perform cleaning duties.
• Willingness to work shifts and flexible hours as required.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, camp‑based environment.

Required skills

• Operation of basic cleaning tools and equipment (mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, cleaning carts).
• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
