About the role
Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Deputy Country Director to support the Country Director in Haiti. This senior position combines strategic leadership, program oversight, and spiritual mentorship within a faith‑based humanitarian organization.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Country Director in developing and communicating the office vision and strategy.
- Provide leadership and strategic insight for all programmatic activities, including donor‑funded and internally funded projects.
- Ensure grants, awards, and programs comply with program management guidelines, field operating guides, and donor/government regulations.
- Supervise partner‑operated programs, monitor humanitarian issues, conduct field assessments, and advise on response options.
- Maintain strong relationships with coordination bodies, clusters, and external stakeholders.
- Act as Officer in Charge during the Country Director’s absence and host VIP visits.
- Serve as a spiritual leader for international and national staff.
Required profile
- Active, multiple‑entry U.S. visa.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Development, Politics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum four years of relevant experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with WFP, IOM, or USAID‑funded programming preferred.
- Extensive field humanitarian experience in a management role.
- 12 credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies (or willingness to complete).
