Director of Mission Support

About the role

The Director of Mission Support (DMS) leads all logistical, administrative, financial and operational support functions for the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH). Reporting directly to the Head of Mission, the DMS ensures that the mission’s mandate is delivered efficiently across a range of UN and partner activities.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the Head of Mission on logistics, administration, finance, contracts, technical and operational support.
• Oversee delivery of services to the Gang Suppression Force, including transport, air operations, procurement, budgeting, finance, HR and communications.
• Provide technical assistance to the Organization of American States and coordinate medical evacuations for Haitian National Police and Armed Forces during joint operations.
• Manage mission support services for the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti.
• Administer human, financial and physical resources in compliance with UN regulations and policies.
• Participate in senior management planning and maintain coordination with UN Headquarters, UN Country Team and other bodies.
• Liaise with Haitian authorities on administrative and logistical matters.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in mission support, logistics or administration within an international or UN context.
• Proven ability to manage large, multi‑disciplinary teams and complex budgets.
• Strong knowledge of UN rules, regulations and procurement procedures.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with national authorities and UN partners.
