Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist

About the role

The Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist will design and implement programs that strengthen community resilience and preparedness for natural hazards in Haiti. Working closely with local partners and government agencies, the role focuses on reducing vulnerability through strategic planning, capacity building, and early warning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and launch comprehensive DRR strategies and programs.
• Build and enhance community preparedness capacity through training and outreach.
• Develop, test, and maintain early warning systems tailored to local risk profiles.
• Coordinate activities with national and municipal disaster management agencies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Disaster Management, Geography, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years professional experience in disaster risk reduction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of early warning systems and community preparedness practices.
