Facilities Manager

About the role

Lufa Farms is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead and elevate the maintenance operations across its urban greenhouse network, distribution centre, and office spaces. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and hands‑on leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance in a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all facilities, addressing critical issues promptly.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximise uptime and extend asset life.
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities with site managers, prioritising work by safety, impact, and business needs.
• Review work orders for quality, track KPIs (uptime, PM compliance, response time, backlog).
• Manage contractors, service providers, and vendors, overseeing safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Support improvement, renovation, and capital projects from planning through execution.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, electrical/mechanical standards, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
• Maintain facility documentation, permits, inspection records, and accurate asset inventories.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance and facilities budget, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the maintenance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Administer the CMMS (MaintainX) and analyse failure trends to drive lasting fixes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, Industrial, or Facilities Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of facilities management experience, including three+ years leading a multidisciplinary team in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electro‑mechanical systems and equipment.
• Organised, able to prioritise in a fast‑paced setting, and comfortable managing both Capex and Opex budgets.
